Three days above the understory revealed a world most visitors never witness — a layered ecosystem teeming with endemic species. Our field team documented over 40 species of epiphytes, tracked canopy-dwelling primates at dawn, and worked alongside local guides who have read these forests for generations.
Every layer of the canopy tells a different story — from the buttress roots anchoring giants to the sunlit crown where hornbills nest. Students who joined this expedition came away with a completely different relationship to what a forest actually is.
